A PUBLIC meeting to discuss the proposed closure of Rhyl Crown Post Office will be held on Friday.
The Crown Post Office on the corner of Water Street and Wellington Road is to be replaced by a franchise with a retail partner at another site within the town.
Firms such as Spar and WH Smith already operate branches in other towns.
Chris Ruane, MP for the Vale of Clwyd, said: "It is important the sale of Rhyl Crown Post Office does not go ahead.
“By selling off the Crown Post Office as a franchise there would be a serious impact on staff, services and businesses in the town.
“Rhyl Crown Post Office is well used and draws in hundreds of people into that area of the town every week and its closure will have an impact on all the businesses located nearby."
Post Offices bosses say the move is part of "the biggest business transformation programme in the history of the Post Office".
The meeting, organised Commercial Workers Union, will be held at Rhyl Town Hall at 6pm.
