Poundland confirm they are coming to Rhyl

POUNDLAND has confirmed it is coming to Rhyl but not if it is taking over the Marks and Spencer store.

The budget retailer has confirmed it is opening a new store in the town but has not given details on how many jobs will be created or where it will be located.

Outdoor clothing retailer Yeomans has announced it will be opening a branch in the former Gamestation store and Betfred will be moving to the former Millets store (pictured).

Malcolm Hall, Rhyl Town Centre Manager, said: “These retail units are especially welcome.

“My experience of Poundland coming to Scarborough was very positive. It was successful from day one. People from all social backgrounds flocked to the store. It was always busy.

“The Yeomans store is also good news. They are an outdoor outfitters and that will work well with all the walks and outdoor activities in the area.

“It is good to have a store in the town centre which caters for that.”

A spokesman for Yeomans said: “The Granite Outdoors store will be opening on the former Gamestaion site on the corner of the High Street and Wellington Road.

A Betfred spokesman said: “We will be taking over the 60/62 High Street unit and will hopefully open for May or June.”

    great news that these new names are coming to rhyl and willing to invest in the town i would be interested to see where poundland would go as there shops are always big and they have just opened in prestatyn

    what a load of rubbish!! who on earth will flock to rhyl to go to poundland, has the councillors gone mad?? look at prestatyn and that is what rhyl should have been with the west end. councillors should hang their heads in shame, nothing for anyone to go to rhyl for, think the tide will stop coming in soon, the high street need regenerating, with illegal buskers (steve jolly) et al . wake up and smell the costa coffee council
