CONWY council is looking for new offices for over 600 of its staff.
The council is “working hard” to find a new site in which to consolidate all its staff, currently spread out in various office spaces throughout Conwy County.
The issue was raised as part of the Improving Conwy report presented to Conwy County Burrough Council’s principal overview and scrutiny commitee on Monday.
Conwy Council Deputy Leader, Cllr Ronnie Hughes, said: “At the moment, we are scattered all over the place, but we are working hard to arrange a new site where we can hopefully do something about it.
“We’re moving to get all departments located in one site.”
Council offices at Dinerth Road, Rhos on Sea, will be handed over to the Welsh Government within the next two years.
Around 330 staff are based in Dinerth with a further 300 based in offices around the county.
Cllr Hughes added: “The offices in Dinerth Road belong to the Welsh Government, and we could be asked to vacate the site anytime in the next two years.
“We’re working hard at the moment to secure new premises for all our staff.
“This isn’t a precautionary measure - it is something that we have to do.”
