A RHYL night club has introduced safety glasses to help prevent serious injuries.

Hidden, situated on Water Street, will now serve all drinks in polycarbonate glasses, making the club the only glass free location in the town.

The introduction has the full support of the Wright family, who own five bars/clubs in Rhyl, along with town centre manager Malcolm Hall, who is also backing the idea.

Leigh Wright said: "I'm always happy to work and support any customer and staff safety issues with in our bars and to work with Police and Denbighshire County Council.

“The polycarbonate idea fits in with that safety aspect - our customers, staff and visiting officials to our bars should be as safe as possible, reducing any risk to them whilst on our premises."

PC Leslie Jones said: “There was an incident within the location over the festive period and had it not been for the use of this type of drinking glass, there is no doubt that someone would have been seriously injured.”
