GAVIN and Stacey Melanie Walters is ready to sprinkle a little Christmas magic in Rhyl’s festive extravaganza.
Audience members of all ages are enjoying Sleeping Beauty, which plays at the Pavilion Theatre until Saturday, January 12.
Melanie stars as the Good Fairy, and said: “It’s a great family show and a great introduction for young people to the absolute joy and wonder of theatre.
There’s nothing wrong with little shows for five or six years olds, but panto is different, becuase it’s like the grown up theatre.”
Melanie added that she loved the response from the children, and also the camaraderie with cast members, who include Liverpudlian star Margi and Denbigh-born Blood Brothers star Sean Jones.
She said: “You end up having a great time. You have to get on because you’re spending literally four weeks, almost 24 hours a day with everybody.”
Melanie also answered the most-asked question about the show that catapulted her to fame: will there be any more Gavin and Stacey?
She said: “All we can say is that the core cast would love it, but it all depends on Ruth (Jones) and James (Corden), but they’re both very very busy people.”
“We’ll just have to see, but there won’t be a series - they don’t feel like there should be a series.
“Hopefully there will be a special, but I can’t anything - I don’t believe anything until I write on the dotted line.”
Sleeping Beauty is attracting great responses from audiences, so make sure to book a seat for this fantastic family treat.
Tickets are £7 - £15.50.
