A ROOFING contractor who changed his firm’s logo in the wake of the allegations against Jimmy Savile has found a new catchphrase.

Jimmy Aspinall, 59, used Jim’ll Fix It as the catchphrase on his van since 1994 but since allegations about the conduct of the former BBC presenter have become public, he said he has suffered a loss of trade.

After appealing for Journal readers to help find him a new logo he has settled on Can We Fix It? Yes We Can which was suggested by 17-year-old Laurie Davies, of Rhuddlan.

“It is going really well, people are liking the new logo,” said Mr Aspinall.
“I am really pleased about it.
“I’m glad to put it all behind me.”

Mr Aspinall, of Weaver Avenue, Rhyl, runs Jimmy Aspinall Roofing along with his son Niki, 32.

“She just said why didn’t I use Can We Fix It? Yes We Can.

“I thought it would be a good idea.”

Laurie was given a voucher for two free breakfasts at the Whistlestop Cafe in Rhuddlan for her efforts and took along her mum to enjoy the free meal.

Mr Aspinall, who has run the firm for more than 30 years, said it cost him more than £200 to remove the slogan from his van and replace it.

it is a good catchphrase but i hope they got permission from bob the builder ( childrens programe) because that is the catchphrase he uses wouldn't want him to be done for copyright.
