A NEW version of a classic horror tale of obsession is set to terrify and entertain Colwyn Bay theatre goers in equal measure.

Theatr Colwyn presents Simon Moore’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel Misery on Monday, November 12.

Popular romance novelist Paul Sheldon retires to Colorado to write the final work in a successful series featuring his heroine Misery Chastain.

However, Sheldon pays the price for drunk driving when he is knocked unconscious in a car crash. He awakes in a dilapidated farmhouse and, cut off by a blizzard, he can only rely on the woman who saved him - his number one fan, Annie.

Cathy Bates and James Caan played Paul and Anne in Rob Reiner’s 1990 movie adaptation, and this chilling story of obsession is now set to enthral theatr goers, with director Oliver Hume at the helm.

Misery features strong language and scenes of violence, Misery is certainly not for the faint hearted.

Show time is 7.30pm. Tickets are £10. To book, call the Theatr Colwyn box office on 01492 872 000/01492 577 888, or visit·
