A CELEBRITY guest is earmarked to join a Rhyl man as he enters the boxing ring for ten hours to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Daniel Price, aged 22, of Highfield Park, will go toe to toe with different opponents for 200, three minute rounds, at the Ffrith Arena in Prestatyn on November 18.
Mr Price said he has asked his cousin, British heavyweight boxer David Price, to come and show his support.
“I’m hoping to get him to come here - but I know David has got a big fight coming up so I will have to wait and see,” he said.
He has arranged the event to raise the money for friends and family, serving in the forces, but added he also wants to do this for his nan, who once was an RAF member.
“My nan was my hero - I always wanted to join the RAF and I was due to go in but when she died I went off the rails,” he said.
“I have got a lot of respect for everyone in the forces - they are doing something I have always wanted to do.”
Mr Price, who has boxed since the age of seven, won his first semi-pro fight last month in 53 seconds.
He will be donating 10% of the proceeds raised to the ABC Boxing Club, that he regularly attends, to enable them to buy new equipment.
The event will have a host of entertainment, with X Factor finalist Sami Brookes performing, alongside local talent Pretty Girl Rock, Carl Fox-Jones, and Jay Merrill.
Chic Fitness will also be there giving pole dancing, zumba and dance lessons, and there will be karate demonstrations from John Lynn’s Black Belt Academy.
Mr Price, originally from Wallasey moved to North Wales to live with his girlfriend.
He is calling out to the community to come and get involved.
