A TRAPPED bird had to be rescued after it got stuck in a chimney in Beaumaris Castle.
RSPCA officers were alerted after a buzzard had found itself stuck in a disused chimney in the castle.
After considering abseiling down the old chimney, officers used poles and a net to usher the bird through the grate below, and to safety.
Inspector Ann Lloyd-Williams then managed to get hold of the buzzard through a small opening and he was then checked and released unharmed.
Inspector Rachael Davies said: "We were glad to be able to free this poor buzzard fairly quickly as sometimes the bird-stuck-in-chimney scenario can be quite a tricky and time-consuming incident for the RSPCA.
"Thank you to the caller for alerting us to the bird's plight and we are sure he too is grateful to be back soaring the skies!"
