THE death of a man who had been reported missing is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Craig Edwards, who was from the Wrexham area, was found dead in a hotel in Cardiff last Friday.
His body was found two days after Mr Edwards, 41, was last seen and was reported missing, with his family and friends launching an online plea for his safe return.
Earlier this week Mr Edwards’ death was described as “unexplained” by police, with a post-mortem examination having yet to be conducted.
A spokesman for South Wales Police yesterday: “South Wales Police is investigating the sudden death of a 41-year-old man.
“His body was found at a hotel in the Cathedral Road area of Cardiff on Friday, June 15. The death is not being treated as suspicious and next of kin have been informed.”
A spokesman for the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Coroner’s Office confirmed the death has been reported but said no comment could yet be made as a post-mortem had not so far been carried out.
