A PARK and children's play area in Rhos on Sea is set for a revamp thanks to work by the community and the council.

Rhos Park, on Penrhyn Avenue, will receive a facelift after a successful funding application from the Friends of Rhos Park group.

Funding for the project would come from the Waste, Regeneration and Environment Agency, which is able to provide funds to communities situated near landfill sites.

Rhos councillor Roger Parry is confident of the go-ahead for the park's renovation.

Cllr Parry said: "It will provide a greatly enhanced attraction and additional recreational facilities - especially for young people and families living in the area.

"It is a prime example of the local community working in partnership with the council to obtain funding that would not be available otherwise.”
