STARS of tomorrow are invited to be part of show in a weekend of exciting events at Llandudno.

Venue Cymru will be hosting the third annual take pART! event on January 7-8 offering an eclectic mix of music, theatre and dance workshops which would not normally be available.

From poetry reading and seaside art to dance and music workshops, there promises to be something for everyone to enjoy.

North Wales actor and singer, Mark Evans, who featured on BBC One programme Your Country Needs You, will also be taking part as both a supporter of the local arts scene and as patron for the project.

"The arts are so important in the local area. London and the West End is what performers dream about," said Mark. "It may only be two hours and 40 minutes away on the train, but to some people it seems like a lifetime away. When I was younger it might as well have been New York.
"I've been very fortunate - I was in the right place at the right time. I want to use my experience to assist other people. I'm going to be running workshops - a bit of singing, a bit of dancing. Parents then get to watch a show which is great. And I'm going to be performing a few tracks from my CD which I released in October.
"I'm trying to use my experience and what I've achieved to advise other people.I want to make the most of the opportunity. "

Also taking party of the packed weekend of events is dance sessions with the vibrant and energetic Rambert Dance Company; Storytelling with Catherine Aran; Drama workshops with Shakespeare 4 Kidz and the West End Stage; Rap and Beatboxing with Ed Holden aka Mr Phormula; Art workshops with local artists Tim Pugh, Wendy Dawson and graffiti artist Andy Birch; Writing sessions with children’s authors Rob Lewis and Mumptown; and much more.

"This is exactly the kind of thing I would have absolutely loved growing up, but this was not available to me," said Mark. "It's such an opportunity for all different people. "As a professional performer, this is the kind of thing I craved for when I was younger."
