A COLWYN Bay animal shelter is urging pet lovers to help give rescued furry friends a home.

Ferrets and rabbits who have been abandoned, mistreated, or given up by their owners and are currently being cared for by the RSPCA Bryn y Maen centre in Colwyn Bay, are in desperate need of loving owners to care for them.

Clare Maclean from Bryn y Maen said: “All our ferrets are looking for a loving home, they need somewhere they can have lots of room to play and climb, and a cosy bed they can bury into and be cosy. They also like hammocks.

“Our ferrets vary in ages, but all young and mischievous, extremely playful when they are not sleeping, and love to go out for a walk on a harness when it’s not so cold.”

Bryn y Maen is also looking for homes for their rabbits, as numbers are increasingly growing.

“A lot of our rabbits are already in pairs too, and would love to have a home together.”

If you are interested in caring for a ferret or rabbit, or any of the other animals at RSPCA Bryn y Maen, call the centre on 0300 123 0745, or visit the website at www.rspca.co.uk and look under Bryn y Maen.
