Six for Cassidy as Rhuddlan thump Rhos

DARREN Cassidy cracked six goals as Premier Division leaders Rhuddlan Town routed Rhos United 12-0.

The other goals came from Mike Roose (2), Dean Moss, Jamie Duffy, Dave Cameron and Jack Williams.

Abergele Dragons crushed Llansannan 9-0, spearheaded by Jack Walker’s four, Ryan Jones (2), Ben Parmmond, Keiron Ellis and Lee Roberts.

Prestatyn Rovers were also in high-scoring form with a 8-1 eclipse of Y Glannau. John Hargreaves (3), Chris Lowe, James Price, Danny Williams, Shane Thomas and Martin King the scorers.

Meliden pipped Mochdre Sports 3-2 thanks to two second half goals from James Harper following Lee Beattie's opener while St Asaph came away 6-3 victors from Rhyl Athletic courtesy of Adam Cassidy (3), Owain Jones (2) and Kris Fearnley. Rhyl Hearts fell 3-0 at Betws-yn-Rhos.

Prestatyn Rovers also drew a blank in the Reserves Combination Division game at Flint Town Youth where they lost 3-0.

Rhyl lost 3-1 in their Reserve Premier League derby against Denbigh Town at Belle Vue.

ALUN Winstanley got a hat-trick as Rhyl Sunday League title contenders Shooters gunned down One Call 5-1 to move into third place.

Despite having only nine players at the kick-off Shooters were still good enough to open up a 3-0 half-time lead by the time their missing pair arrived. Andy Thomas and Billy Thomas completed the tally.

Mayquay lost 3-1 at The Barrel for the second time in two weeks  Matty Toole (2) and Paul Timpson securing victory after Ashley Green had narrowed the gap to 2-1.

Sunday’s fixtures: Leddens v One Call; Queens Arms v Mayquay; Shooters v Burkes Eleven.
