A GLAMOROUS charity calendar featuring saucy boudoir-style photographs of young mums has hit the shelves.

‘Flintshire Mummys’ hope their revealing yet tasteful calendar will raise thousands of pounds for the North Wales Chrysalis Trust.

Inspired by the hit film Calendar Girls, the group of mothers bravely decided to reveal nearly all to support families of children diagnosed with life threatening or terminal illnesses.

Holly Edwards, 23, from Ruthin, was one of the mums who helped to turn the calendar idea into a reality.

She said: “Everybody is really pleased with the finished calendars. They look absolutely fantastic.

“The mummies have been amazing and sales of the calendars has been going well.

“We would love to raise at least £3,500 for charity and every penny we make will be going to a fantastic cause.”

Professional photographer Holly arranged a glitzy photoshoot at Soughton Hall in Northop in September.

She said the experience had been one to remember for the mums. “It has been an awful lot of hard work and I couldn’t have managed it without the mummies,” she said.

“Twelve of the mums posed for photographs but lots of other mums came along on the day to help out.

The group organised a launch event for the calendar at the Springfield Hotel in Halkyn last month which raised £600 for charity.

Holly said: “We had Christmas stalls and casino games. It was a really good night and everybody enjoyed themselves. The calendar is really professional and very tasteful. All of the mums look fabulous, it has definitely been worth it.

“We would like to thank all of our sponsors for making the calendar possible and we have already talking about what else we can do to raise money for charity.”

More than 200 mums have joined ‘Flintshire Mummys’ since the group was formed in January and they meet every week to make new friends and offer support.

Calendars cost £10 and are available from members of Flintshire Mummys, Lester's Farm Shop in Buckley and Homeward Bound in Ruthin.
