TRIBUTES have been paid to a Rhuddlan hairdresser.

Patricia Hilary Hughes, who ran the Hazel Court hair salon on the village high street, was found at the bottom of her staircase with her husband around 1pm last Tuesday.

Rhuddlan Councillor Ann Davies said she was “very sad” to hear of Mrs Hughes’ death.

“They were a very popular couple who were prominent in the community,” she said.
“I’m very sad to hear of her death, and I’d like to pass my deepest sympathy to her family.

Maurice Bamford, captain of Rhuddlan Golf Club where Mrs Hughes was a member, said golfers at the club were shocked to hear of her death.

“Our thoughts are with her family," he said.

An inquest into Mrs Hughes’ death has been opened and adjourned, and North Wales Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
