VET Paul Humble is tickled pink by this stylish addition to his top lip.

Paul, from Rhostyllen, has not only cultivated an impressive moustache but has also dyed it to raise money for charity.

The 35-year-old, a partner of Daleside Veterinary Group based on Pandy Lane Industrial Estate, is taking part in ‘Movember’.

The moustache-growing event is held every November to raise awareness of men’s health.

Proceeds from the national campaign will be split between The Prostate Cancer Charity, The Institute of Cancer Research and Movember Foundation.

Paul said: “This Movember is close to my heart as my uncle was diagnosed four weeks ago with prostate cancer.

“My grandfather also died of prostate cancer so I was keen to take part in this year’s campaign.

“I think Movember is a unique, fun way for guys to raise money.”

Paul entrusted his new moustache into the care of beauticians at The Hair Boutique, on High Street, Wrexham, who dyed it free of charge.

“The pink’ ’tache began as a joke between me and the nurses at Daleside Vets,” said Paul, originally from Queensland, Australia.

“One joked that I should dye it pink and another piped up and said they would pay me if I did. I suddenly thought ‘I could make some serious money out of this’ and within 20 minutes all the staff had dug deep and donated.”

Paul, who is being supported by his wife Michelle, 41, also a veterinary nurse at Daleside, and their 16-month-old son, Jack, is hoping to raise £500 for the cause.

He added: “I’ve got a two-day veterinary conference in Southport next week which could be embarrassing when I turn up with a pink moustache. But it’s for a good cause and hopefully it will raise some more money.”
