SUNNY Rhyl maintained their late title challenge with a storming 8-2 victory over Llanrwst in the Collister & Glover Welsh Counties League.

im Batey 21-10 could not save Rhyl's bottom-of-the-table Grove Park from a 10-4 home tumble against Llysfaen in their Section C key clash. Title chasing Abergele floored Bethesda 11-3 but third-placed Rhuddlan did even better with a 13-1 blitz against Vardre.
Amy Scott 21-8 lifted St Asaph B to a welcome 10-4 win over Denbigh B in Section D but bottom club Rhyl were again on the receiving end of a 12-2 blast at Llandudno B. Sunny Rhyl romped home 10-4 at Kinmel Bay.
All-conquering St Asaph A made it 15 straight wins with a 11-3 victory at Elwy Park over Llysfaen in Division A.
Closest challengers Denbigh A kept up their chase with a 10-4 win over Copperfields while Geoff Hollis steered Meliden A to a surprise 11-3 win at Trefnant A. Rhuddlan A took a 9-5 tumble at Old Colwyn.
In Division B Kinmel Bay A tightened their grip on the championship with a 9-5 win over third-placed Highbury while chasing Rhuddlan B toppled Kinmel Bay B 10-4.
Sunny Rhyl's Brian Poole and Glyn Roberts sealed a 12-2 rout of Meliden B while Division C front runners St Asaph B romped home 11-3 at East Parade B, Ray Shawcross a rare 21-0.
Rhyl A shaded a 8-6 over Denbigh B, Trefnant B beat Rhos park 10-4 and Dyserth B beat Rhyl B 8-6.
