BURGEONING artists have been praised after they showcased their work at a “stunning” exhibition at a Chester school.
The artwork was developed after year 12 and 13 pupils at the Queen’s School researched and developed their thoughts and explored different themes and materials.
This year’s leavers who are to study art or arts related courses include Alice Brown, who is doing an Art Foundation at Oxford Brookes University; India Czulowski, who is planning to study architecture at Glasgow University; Ayesha Jones, who is going to do an art foundation at Central Saint Martins in London; and Lydia London, who is also doing an Art Foundation at Bangor University.
Head of art Alistair Tucker said: “It has been a pleasure to teach and inspire such gifted and talented girls all of whom have worked really hard to achieve such high standards. I wish each and every one of them all the best in their chosen careers.”
Headmistress Sarah Clark, who is completing her first year at the school, said: “The talent we have at the school is amazing, not just the pupils but the teachers and staff too.
“Our loft-like art room forms a natural space and backdrop in which to show these pieces off to great advantage for our summer exhibition and we look forward to following the progress of our leavers with great anticipation in the art world.”
