FESTIVAL-GOERS were treated to both scorching sun and magnificent music last weekend when the Ymuno event returned for its second year.
The three day fest enjoyed its first staging at Bryn Ffanigl Farm, secluded amidst the hills behind Abergele, which proved to be the perfect venue for the distinctly chilled-out affair where a host of guitar plucking performers delivered a continuous serving of smooth folk-tinged tunes.
From Welsh language duo The High Society - who juggled stripped back acoustic fare with computer assisted full-sound break-beats - to Blackpool native Karima Francis who proved a popular addition to the line-up; the idyllic conditions and peaceful surroundings complemented the friendly, cosy environment.
Friday night saw an eclectic mix of artists ranging from the indie-rock of Catfish and the Bottlemen to the lullaby-esque smoothness of Chloe Leavers, with Saturday welcoming a raft of performances throughout the day.
As the light began to fade, the tempo was turned up with hip-hop-funk group The Mouse Outfit who had the teepee audience dancing into the night before acoustic supremo Foy Vance calmed the crowds around a blazing fire.
Putting an emphasis on creating an intimate affair through limited ticket numbers, Ymuno offered the perfect festival for music fans who abhor the thought of crammed venues, filthy conditions and loutish behaviour.
With both audiences and performers coming to together to enjoy great music and a great atmosphere, all eyes are already on what Ymuno will be offering next year.
