TRIBUTES have been paid to a Rhyl man who has been found dead after not being seen for almost two months.

Damien Jones, 30, was discovered in the River Dee near Chester last week having not been sent since January 21.

In a statement, Damien’s family expressed their deep sadness at their loss and thanked those who helped in the rescue search for him.

They said: "Damien is very sadly missed by his mother, father, two brothers, and nephew as well his friends and extended family.

“The family would like to thank the person who found Damien's body in the river and contacted the Police, and also offer thanks to the rescue lifeboat and the emergency services for their assistance.”

A post-mortem has been carried out at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

No funeral details have so far been released.
