CROWDS “galore” packed into Rhyl’s Coronations Gardens as the sun came out for the town’s annual carnival.
Described as “the best carnival the town has seen in many years” the event featured a colourful parade filled with carnival royalty, community and commercial groups, morris dancers, representatives from the police, fire and lifeboat.
On the field, visitors were treated to stalls, a fun fair, inflatable assault courses, a baby and dog show, donkey rides and displays from dance and karate groups. There was even a choir.
Louise McCabe-Allen, one of the organisers of the carnival, said: “Wow, what a fantastic day. The sun shone on what was the best carnival the town has seen in many years. The parade was full of colour and it was the longest it has been for years too.
“Hundreds of people flocked to the field to make the day a huge success with traders and visitors alike commenting on how busy everywhere was and how much fun people were having.
“It was fantastic to see Rhyl come out and support the event and have so much fun in the sun.”
