I HAVE been amazed at the amount of support I have received after the Journal reported the story about me being refused access to the local recycling centre because my car is also a taxi.
I've had support and good luck wishes by people via text messages, e-mail, I've had total strangers pat me on the back in the supermarket and of course I was recognised by every other fare that got in my taxi for three days solid afterwards. My wife and daughters have received similar comments every one commenting on the stupidity of the council. And 16 taxi drivers have told me that they’ve used the very same skip. So what’s wrong with me then?

But despite a Denbighsire County Council spokesman saying they would be willing to talk to me, none of my calls to the enviromental/ cleansing department were returned.

After seven days I eventually got through to an official who told me that public opinion meant nothing, rules were rules, and appearing in “he local rag” carried no weight.

So the outcome is that I am still not allowed to use the amenities on Marsh Road or any other such centre in Denbighshire.

We failed this time but I wonder if they would act more positivley if I fly-tipped.
