Public have been duped on treaty
HOW right Cllr Steve Radford is. Yes, we were promised a referendum on the Constitutional Treaty, the powers of which are all but replicated in the Lisbon Treaty.
Yes, Labour should keep its manifesto promise.
Yes, the EU is unelected. It is not democratic.
Yes, there will be a substantial shift of power from the UK parliament to the EU Commission.
The British people must be allowed to have their say, as we were allowed to do so before joining the EU. Now over 75 per cent of our laws are a result of directives from Brussels.
I was privileged to visit the EU parliament a while ago and what I experienced there was quite shocking.
Had I not seen it myself, I may not have believed what was happening there.
The British public has been duped.
