The news that staff from the Community Agency are to be made redundant has come as a blow to our Association.
They have offered us tremendous help and support since our inception, and have guided us through the many pitfalls experienced by new clubs.
I know that they have helped many, many groups and individuals and their location right by the railway and bus station in Rhyl has made access easy.
Their work in helping groups to draw down funding to assist local residents and their proven task record in attracting grants makes the decision by Denbighshire County Council to reduce this avenue of support almost incomprehensible.
If the council wants to reduce this expenditure might I suggest that they look a little closer to home, step out of their ivory towers in Ruthin, and come and look at what is really going on to the north of the A55.
Once again the Independent/Tory controlled Denbighshire County Council are showing their utter contempt for the many excellent voluntary groups and the hundreds of volunteers who give their time for nothing.
