Full of admiration for the non-strikers
I ADMIRE the teachers who did not strike, because it is evident they have consciences, unlike the strikers who have not.
It it greed demanding more money, taking into consideration short hours (long holidays), actually only working only eight months of the year.
Statistics show after five years salaries of between £30,000 and £40,000, with a good pension resulting in early retirement.
I belong to the generation responsible for giving you freedom.
In my days at secondary modern, our class sizes were 48 pupils, and we were taught by university educated teachers. At 14 years of age we all graduated, fully educated in the essential three 'R's'.
Today it appears to be a quick-fix training and the result is the end product the e 'Rs' are lacking.
Denbighshire has an abysmal record in education and the blame lies entirely with the teaching profession and you have the audacity to strike for more money.
