I have just read your article on elderly drivers who by all accounts are dangerous on our roads according to a senior police officer.
I am an elderly driver (female aged 79) and have never been in an accident.
I have an unblemished driving licence, do not break the speed limit and respect other drivers.
I cannot say the same for the younger drivers who quite often pass me in a 50 mph zone doing at least 80.
The really bad drivers are the express delivery drivers who have to break all limits to get their parcels or whatever on time and flash their lights at you from behind and try to intimidate you if you are keeping to the speed limit.
I do not drive so slowly that I am a danger to others and will drive 70 mph when the signs say that I can.
I have taken my car to France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Denmark and have driven all over Norway so I consider that I am a good driver.
Do not class all elderly people as some senile bumbling idiots who should just sit at home and stagnate.
