SO the West End of Rhyl needs a further £10 million injecting in to the area to regenerate it.
This is on top of the tens of millions spent over the past 20 and to what effect.
Add to that the alleged current private investment in the area of £100 million and you have an investment of more than £200 million in a very small area which reflects
nothing. Some nice buildings but the poverty and deprivation remains.
The MP Chris Ruane has been incumbent in his position for maore than 11 years.
When elected Mr Ruane stated that he would ensure that the West End of Rhyl received the regeneration that it deserved.
Eleven years on and the West End of Rhyl still remains as one of the most deprived areas in Britain.
Mr Ruane bleats for even more money however Mr Ruane remains quiet about his government policies and actions that continue to keep people living in poverty.
The scrapping of the 10p tax, rising fuel and power costs, inflation busting rate rises, meagre pay rises (except for MP's) rising mortgage costs and house repossessions.
His government is supposed to be the protectors of the vulnerable and less fortunate but their actions speak louder than their policies do.
We would like to see some action please and a record of achievement that removes the West End of Rhyl out of the league of the most deprived areas in Britain and into the 21st century promised life style.
