Cutbacks are short sighted

AS founder members of the former highly successful Rhyl College Art Department we wish to endorse the comments made by Malcolm Jones (Journal Postbag April 9 - "Agency cutbacks are beyond belief").
The cutbacks to the Community Agency by Denbighshire County Council are a short-sighted move. They will remove a cost effective body of expertise and knowledge that is available and accessible to the disenfranchised within the community.
In these times of isolation and division it is a force for empowerment and unity, perhaps this is its crime.
It has been the foundation for many developments within the community. As people who have benefited from its facilities and help, we urge a re-think on this issue. At this time of local elections be sure to ask any prospective Denbighshire County Councillor who petitions for your vote where they stand on this issue, and how they will respond once in post.
