Llandudno is now just hours away from kicking off national Armed Forces Day celebrations.

The event will celebrate its tenth anniversary in Llandudno tomorrow and here is the schedule for the weekend:

Saturday, June 30

10am – Military village in Bodafon Fields open to the public

11am – A Gun Salute will be fired from HMS Somerset to signal the official start of the Armed Forces Day parade. HMS Somerset will be anchored in Llandudno Bay.

11am – Parade begins from the Memorial Hall, Llandudno

11.06am (approximately) – HRH The Princess Royal will receive the Royal Salute. The Saluting Dias will be directly outside Venue Cymru.

12.00pm – RAF Red Arrows air display

12.25pm - RAF Battle of Britain Memorial air display

12.47pm – RAF Typhoon air display

1pm - Royal Air Force Military Working Dogs at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

1.25pm - Royal Marines Unarmed Combat Display at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

1.45pm - Band of the Sea Cadets at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

2pm - Royal Logistic Corps Silver Stars at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

2.15pm - Royal Navy Raiders at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

2.35pm - Band of the Army Cadets at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

2.50pm - Gurkha Khukuri Dance at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

3.05pm - Band of the Air Cadets at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

3.25pm - 4 Para Infantry Demo at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

3.40pm - Armed Forces Rally Team at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

3.55pm - Royal Marines Unarmed Combat Display at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

4.14pm - Royal Air Force Falcons at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

4.30pm - Beach Raid on the Llandudno Promenade

4.40pm - Music concert at the Arena, Bodafon Fields

The event will be attended by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal representing The Queen, senior political and military representatives, the Leader of Conwy County Borough Council and civic representatives, and hundreds of Service personnel – both Regular and Reserve – from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force. Cadets and veterans will also attend.

People hoping to attend the event are asked to plan ahead and allow plenty of time to arrive with more than 250,000 visitors expected to head to the event over the weekend.

Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) will be offering park and ride and park and walk services which will run into Llandudno on Saturday.

The sevices will run from 10 sites including Coleg Llandrillo in Rhos-on-Sea, Civic Offices in Colwyn Bay, and several fields on the outskirts of Llandudno.

The shuttle buses will run from 7am until 9.30pm on a loop system in and out of Llandudno. Parking is free, but buses will charge £1 per person each way (under 5s free). All car parks will be stewarded, but parking is at your own risk.

Visitors are encouraged to follow directional signage to their nearest car park as the traffic signage will be updated as car parks fill. Accessible car parks will be clearly signed and please note Arriva have confirmed mobility scooters can go on the shuttle buses.

A CCBC spokesperson said: "Park and ride buses will be the fastest way into town if you’re travelling by car on the day."

Public transport will also be increased over the weekend with Arriva Train Wales and Arriva Buses putting on extra services.

People are asked to avoid driving with road closures in place around the Llandudno area.

The Great Orme toll road, Marine Drive will be closed between 8am and 11.59pm on Saturday, June 30.

Clarence Crescent will be closed between 7am and 10pm on Saturday.

Bodafon Road will be closed between 7am and 10pm, while access for residents on Bodafon Road will be maintained.
