Humour is in bloom once again in Prestatyn this month with another instalment of top flight stand-up.

Comedy Central returns with an further dose of talent from across the England and Wales, brought together by a brand new compère Pete Phillipson on Friday, May 25.

Taking the reins from the irrepressibly energetic comic Tudur Owen, will be Pete Phillipson, from Lincolnshire.

For anybody who may be concerned of Phillipson’s fitness for replacing the Welsh comic, fear not – he is a master of mimicking accents and his fast paced observations make him the perfect fit to fill Owen’s boots, and he will be sure to guide proceedings with plenty of hysterics. Joining Phillipson is international man of comedy Eddy Brimson, whose engaging and compelling – and often shocking – routine has seen him as the first comics to perform in Myanmar, as well as stints in the French Alps, Australia and even China.

Representing Wales in Owen’s absence will be the award-winning Matt Rees, whose unique brand of well-crafted gags and acerbic delivery are not to be missed. Headlining the event is the sharp material and quick wit of Edinburgh Fringe Festival vet Danny McLoughlin, who has firmly established himself as one of the country’s premier comics.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10, or £20 with a two-course pre-show meal, and can be booked via liverpoolcomedycentral.co.uk or by calling 0845 0132257.
