ANYONE with the name David is in for a tasty treat on St David’s Day!

Anybody called David is entitled to a free brew if they attend a St David’s Day 'cuppa and Bara Brith cake fternoon being held at a Bangor hospital Royal Voluntary Service cafe.

The RVS event is being held at the Ysbyty Gwynedd Royal Voluntary Service cafe, from 3pm until 5pm, on Thursday, March 1.

RVS co-ordinator Gwenda Hughes is keen to invite people to come along to the event, which aims not only to celebrate St David’s Day, but also to help raise awareness of the RVS.

“We hope people will join our celebrations and find out a little bit more about the work of the Royal Voluntary Service, and if your name is David, do pop in for a cuppa on us!”

All the cakes on the day are being sponsored by Becws Môn, from Gaerwen.

During the celebration, there will be games, activities a raffle, tombola and more. Admission is £3.

The RVS is always keen to hear from anyone who might be interested in becoming a volunteer.

Volunteers get the chance to work locally on a wide variety of tasks.

Just some of the roles include visiting patients on the wards, manning the information desk, helping with social activities, fundraising, as well as community transport roles helping to drive people from their homes to hospital appointments.
