MONTGOMERY Show returns to the town later this month.

As one of the oldest shows of its type in the area, the 114-year-old show will bring a wide range of events and attractions to the town.

The show takes place on Saturday, August 16, and will have a falconry display, donkey derby, laser clay pigeon shooting and enough great food to fill even the hungriest of revellers.

Geoff Threlfall, committee member, said it'll be a great day: "Everyone gets involved, we're expecting more than 2,000 to come this year and hope the weather holds out for us!"

The day will begin with a carnival procession, led by the newly appointed Queen, Bethan Dumont, 14.

The procession will go around the showground, at Lymore Meadows, where the fun will begin!

Knighton Silver Band will be supplying the grooves, and pupils from Montgomery Primary School will be playing their part in the day's proceedings.

All in all it looks like it will be a great day, and all are invited to join in the fun.

Adults £3 (£2.50 before August 13), Children and Senior Citizens £2.
