THIS year's Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival from Saturday, August 16, to Sunday, August 24, promises to bring you an exciting selection of events that are sure to please the whole family.

Whatever your age, you are bound to find something that will interest you, and bring a smile to your face, some might even find you breaking into fits of laughter.

The surrounding backdrop of incredible Victorian architecture dating from the spa town's heyday, in the late 1800s, further enhances the festivities.

Take a trip down memory lane, and rekindle those feelings of nostalgia with our many entertainers. Street entertainers will enthral you with their many skills. Join in the fun at the afternoon of dance as Appalachian Dancers and the Indian Dance Group take to the streets.

Watch the spectacle of the Victorian Costume Parades and best dressed competitions. Men, here's your chance to heckle the ladies as they surge on Middleton Street as suffragettes on the last Sunday at 4pm.

There will also be mini music halls, a pot pourri of Victorian musical gems, the Suffragettes' march and Victorian tea dances. Choose from a variety of talks on all subjects relating to the Victorian era.

There are plenty of exhibitions and local clubs and organisations have really pulled out the stops to produce interesting displays. Look out for Llandrindod Wells' very own 'Queen Victoria'. Relax in Temple Gardens and enjoy the many bandstand concerts, while partaking of the superb refreshments on offer from the food court.

The Buttered Muffins Theatre Company will have you rolling around with laughter and participating in their variety of entertainment, as they perform throughout the day on the Festival Stage, with lots of audience participation.

There will be face painters and magic shows in the centre of the town.
The will also be a plethora of evening events to suit all tastes from the Masked Victorian Ball to Music Hall, Murder Mystery, Beaufort Male Voice Choir, Musical Interlude with Ffrindiau, Llandrindod Wells Town Silver Band and Rhayader Male Voice Choir and of course The Grand Ball, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Victoria.

The culmination of the festival is a stunning torchlight procession and spectacular fireworks display over the town's beautiful lake, a breathtaking sight not to be missed.
