THE Corris Railway Society is holding its annual Model Railway and Toy Exhibition in the Machynlleth Community Centre over the Bank Holiday Weekend, August 23 to 25.

There will be 10 model railway layouts on display, ranging from the diminutive 'N' scale to the large 'G' and these will be augmented by displays of modelling techniques by experienced modellers who will be glad to pass on their expertise. For those looking for nostalgia one display will bring back some memories as it features the Chad Valley tinplate toy trains that were made in the 1950s as a would-be rival to the famous Hornby clockwork trains.

Refreshments will be available and the Corris will have two sales and publicity stands, with one raising funds for the Falcon appeal, going towards the construction of the next steam locomotive for the revival of the Corris Railway.

The exhibition is open between 10.30am and 5pm each day and admission costs £2.50 for adults, £1.50 for seniors and £1 for children.
