NORTH Wales is busy preparing for one of the most adrenaline fuelled events of the calendar when Wakestock returns to Abersoch.
Established as Europe's largest wakeboard festival, Relentless Wakestock 2008 promises a host of chart storming bands thrust alongside hard-hitting wakeboard action by some of the world's top riders.
Sitting nicely within heart of festival season,
there really is something for everyone with every possible musical taste and style catered for – right on the Llyn Peninsula.
And with 2008 the eighth year for this full-on event, it is shaping up to the best yet. Groove Armada, Mark Ronson and the Version Players, and The Streets will be headlining Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively, backed up by an eclectic mix of acts ranging from Manchester legends the Happy Mondays, to Welsh prog-rockers Funeral For A Friend. A selection of DJs from across the country will also be on hand to keep the tunes blaring throughout the weekend, and Radio 1 regulars Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe will also be on hand.
Throwing out spins and inverts, as well as hitting plenty of rails, wakeboarders from all over the world will be amazing crowds with heart-thumping action.
If you like your music loud, and your sports extreme, then be sure not to miss Wakestock 2008 in Abersoch when it kicks off on July 4. A limited number of single night tickets are available now via the official website at www.wakestock.co.uk or by calling 01758 710000.
