AFTER a gap of nearly a quarter of a century Rhyl has once again got a wishing well of its own.
The latest model was officially opened in the town's White Rose Centre and was welcomed by the local Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs who will use the proceeds to help numerous charitable causes. Not since the old wishing well, sited in the former seafront Royal Floral Hall, was closed in the mid-1980s, has this popular feature been available to visitors and residents.
The idea to recreate the feature came from a joint initiative of last year's Inner Wheel President Sandra Davies and Rotary President Mike Howarth. They got support from the White Rose Centre while Anwyl Construction built and donated the wishing well with more support from Clwyd Signs and Roger Harrison-Jones.
