A GROUP of volunteers have once again helped to tidy up a popular car park in a seaside town.
The volunteers, along with Vale of Clwyd MP Chris Ruane took part in a litter pick at the car park, owned by Tesco, at the bottom of Prestatyn High Street, collecting eight bags of rubbish.
Mr Ruane said: "Firstly I would like to thank all those who turned up to help out with the litter pick," said Mr Ruane.
"But it is unfortunate that so much rubbish can gather at such a well used car park.
"However the litter pick does lead well into the up and coming Keep Wales Tidy Week which runs from June 23 – 29.
"Keep Wales Tidy is urging groups and organisations from across the country to take part and tidy any litter blots in their neighbourhood and I would urge any local groups to take part in this worthwhile event."
Last year 24,000 people of all ages did their bit to clean up their neighbourhoods with thousands of bags of litter being recovered by volunteers at over 500 locations and this year the organisers hope that at least 50,000 people will be getting their hands dirty.
