THE first North East Wales Veterans' Day will be held at the end of the month.
Organised by the North East Wales Veterans' Committee, the event on June 29 begins with a muster at the Rhyl Events Arena at 10am, for a commemoration parade at 10.30am to the Rhyl Garden of Remembrance to pay respects to fallen compatriot's.
A prog

With entertainment for all ages, the daytime programme will include a Dakota fly-past, wartime-style singing with local artist Madison, Rhyl Silver Band, the ACF Corps of Drums, and the Prestatyn ATC.
During the evening the extravaganza continues, with entertainment including performances by the Wirral Pipe Band, Elvis 'GI Blues', the Hotfoot Jazz Quartet and Bill Baseys Big Band, plus a spectacular firework display at 10pm.
Following the fireworks display, the event will be closed by a lone piper playing the last post.
The Royal British Legion, The Welsh Guards Veterans Association, The Royal British Legion Riders Branch, The Royal Air Force Association and a number of youth groups, schools and charitable organisations will also attend.
The day is free with free parking at Ffrith beach and free bus transport between the venues.
One of the founders of the North East Wales Veterans Committee, Mr G Hornby, said: "The event looks set to be a fantastic day for all involved, and hopefully we can build on our success this year and make the 2009 event two-days long."
The event is supported by a number of local councils, regional military associations and support organisations.
