A CHURCH's oldest member was given the honour of reopening its parish hall.
Prestatyn Parish Church sidesman Roy Stewart (right), who celebrates his 100th birthday in June, was invited to join Rev Quentin Bellamy to pronounce to fellow worshippers that Prestatyn Parish Community Hall was open for business again.
Rev Bellamy said: "The community hall had fallen into a state of disrepair, and had become prone to vandalism and neglect, and there had been calls to close and dispose of it. But thanks to the demand of the people of the parish, the hall has been saved and given a much needed face-lift.
"New accessible toilet facilities have been installed, and much tender loving care has been bestowed upon the kitchen, and the whole hall given a much needed lick of paint."
To mark the reopening of the hall, off the town's High Street, the Parish Music Makers' held a dinner show of music from The Wild, Wild West.
