A GROUP of management students from Coleg Llandrillo Cymru rose to the challenge and scaled the heights in a recent charitable expedition.
The eight students Richard Venables from Penrhyn Bay, Nicola Lewis from Rhyl, Lyndsey Foulkes from St Asaph, Rhiannon Lloyd from Llanrwst, Paul Mead from Prestatyn, Steve Tilston from Wrexham, Gwyn Jones from Caernarfon and Darren Jones from Llandudno, took part in the Soaring Feet's Twin Peak Challenge 2008 in aid of the Ty Gobaith Hospice.
Soaring Feet is a group of ILM Diploma in Management Level 5 students made up of employees of Conwy County Borough Council, Denbighshire Council and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
They undertook the ascent of both Mount Snowdon and Cadair Idris in the space of 36 hours in aid of the Children's Hospice. The group also held a fund raising day at Coleg Llandrillo Cymru to help boost funds.
One of the team, Richard Venables from Penrhyn Bay, said: "We had a fantastic weekend walking the two peaks well within the 36 hour limit and were very lucky with the weather, as it remained dry for the whole weekend.
"We are all extremely pleased that we smashed our target of £1,000 by raising a fantastic £2,064.20 for Ty Gobaith and would like to thank everyone who has sponsored and donated money."
