COMMUNITY spirited residents have been entertained by the Queen.
Members of the Rhyl South West Central Residents' Association were invited to Buckingham Palace Garden Party in recognition of receiving the 2008 Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for their work at the Community Café at the Botanical Gardens.
Before their date at the Palace they had were given lunch by Vale of Clwyd MP Chris Ruane at the House of Commons followed by a tour.
Group member George Owen said: "It was a wonderful honour to be able to visit both the House of Commons and Buckingham Palace all on the same day and an excellent reward for all the hard work that has been put in by the volunteers."
Next month the Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd will present the group with a plaque signed by the Queen plus a piece of Royal glassware to commemorate the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.
