Praise for volunteer Joyce's long service

THE CHAIRMAN, Joyce Parry, welcomed members and guests to the annual meeting at the community hospital.
The minutes of the last annual meeting in 2007 were read and approved. The treasurer's report was submitted and showed a healthy balance.
The chairman gave her report and thanked all the officers and members of the league for their hard work over th
e past 12 months. She thanked Sister Tracy and her staff for their loving care and dedication to the patients, doctors for their daily visits and the clergy of the area.
She was grateful to the community for their continued support at fundraising events and for donations in memory of loved ones. The election of officers followed and David Morris was installed as the new chairman of the league and Ena Allport as secretary. The chairman thanked the outgoing secretary, Veronica Wells, for her sterling work over many years.
Phil James, hon president of Attend North-East Wales, proposed all other officers and committee be re-elected en bloc.
The new chairman, David Morris, welcomed Mr James to say a few wards.
Mr James referred to the years of dedication given voluntarily to various hospitals and to the league of friends by Joyce Parry. He presented her with a long service certficate from the national chairman of Attend.
President Cllr Rhiannon Hughes thanked everyone who had helped to fight to keep the hospital open.
The meeting duly closed. The next meeting is on Thursday, May 29 at the community hospital at 7pm. New members welcome.
