CROWDS enjoyed a warm yet overcast afternoon to turn out to Meliden Gala Day 2008.
Saturday's event at Ysgol Melyd, Meliden, included competitions and fun and games, dog contest and puppet shows, martial arts and gymnastic displays, and demonstrations by local police, Young Firefighters Association, the Flood Response Team with two hovercrafts.
Plus a visit by Prestatyn Carnival Queen and her court.
Organiser Sharon Frobisher said: "After over a week of rainy days the weather for the Gala held out but was threatening all morning with a really sunny afternoon.
"I would really like to thank all those who spent the whole day helping with the preparation, minding stalls and keeping gate, without whose help the Gala would be unable to take place. A big thank you to all the families who brought their children along. An event like this is all about the enjoyment children and their parents get from the afternoon."
