THE JOURNAL'S quest to uncover who is on the picture of the 1929 Rhyl rose queen ceremony has already seen one of those photographed come forward.
Jean Sheriff (nee Billington) has revealed she is pictured as an attendant, holding Laura Moorcroft’s dress.

Now 83, Jean, who still lives in Rhyl on War Memorial Court, said: “I think I would have been about five and a half when the picture was taken. As I was very young and it was a long time ago my memories of the event and the other people on the picture are very vague, but I do remember the wonderful dress I wore that day.”

If anyone else can identify who was on the picture, contact The Journal on 01492 523878 or email editor@rhyljournal.co.uk.
