RESIDENTS are being asked to give their views county council priorities.
Research by Denbighshire County Council found modernising education, responding to demographic change, regeneration and roads and flood defences should be its main priorities.
Education has been cited as a key priority since the council received cri
tical inspection reports last September, while the demographic change will focus on people living longer and the support and opportunities available and needed as a result.
Through the regeneration scheme there is a focus on developing and redeveloping every aspect of Denbighshire's environment, with the road and flood defences making sure sufficient resources are in place to make sure they are properly maintained and reviewed.
Council leader, Cllr Hugh Evans, council leader, said: "If we are to make real change, we need to do fewer things, but do them well. Prioritisation is the way in
which councils decide where to focus their scarce resources, including management time and effort.
"The 'day job' of meeting the council's statutory duties continues, but a council's priorities point towards the key areas that the council wants to change. We will value the input of Denbighshire residents and we would encourage anyone with a view to forward their comments to us."
Residents can comment on the priorities until September 12. The list available on request at www.denbighshire.gov.uk or from the strategic policy unit at County Hall, Wynnstay Road, Ruthin, Denbighshire, LL15 1YN, or on 01824 706184.
Comments can be posted to Ruthin or emailed to policyunit@denbighshire.gov.uk
