A NEW Community Nature Garden has been opened at a Rhyl primary school.
Designed by a student of the Welsh College of Horticulture, Claire Morgan and constructed by students from the Welsh College of Horticulture Level 1 and Practical Skills horticulture courses, the garden at Ysgol Mair was opened by former deputy head Chris Ruane MP, Rhyl Mayor Cllr Jeanette Chamberlain Jones and the late Cllr Thomas Hodgson who helped fund the project.

A bench was also dedicated in the garden in memory of Cllr Hodgson by his daughter Gaynor Roberts and Rhyl’s Mayor.

Gail Ann Lavery, chair of Ysgol Mair PTA, said: “It is amazing how the students from the Welsh College of Horticulture have transformed an area which was overgrown and unused into a fantastic nature garden that will benefit community groups and provide the school with an excellent outdoor classroom.”
