A CHARITY stableford golf day helped raise more than £2,000 for NSPCC and ChildLine Cymru.
Eight teams of four from across North Wales competed at Abergele Golf Club, with the Peter Williams Leisure Group taking first place with 88 points.

Team member Luke Murray capped an excellent day by winning the prize for the longest drive.

The prizes for the only par two of the day and nearest the pin went to Mike Atkins of Meliden, who was part of the Mostyn Estates Ltd team from Llandudno.

Chairman of Denbighshire Friends of ChildLine Cymru, Cllr Gerry Frobisher, said: “I would like to thank the eight teams who took part, the companies who sponsored various holes, the many golf clubs throughout North Wales and the other companies who donated the prizes and Abergele Golf Club and members for allowing us to stage the day at their club.”
